Frequently Asked Questions
Please Note: DEADLINE EXTENDED TO JANUARY 4, 2024
There will be no additional extension.
What is the venue for the exhibition?
The exhibition will be held in the Denver Metro Area. We will be posting the gallery location as soon as it is confirmed. To be announced!
Who are the exhibition curators?
To be announced! The team leading this project, co-Project Directors John Tannous and Annie Collier PhD., are both artists and have experience with Science-Informed Art projects. John has served as curator and/or project director for hundreds of art exhibitions throughout a 30-year career in the arts. Annie was project director for Hope & Trauma in a Poisoned Land.
Due to the nature of the funding timeline for this project, planning is still underway concurrent with this Call for Artists. John and Annie are currently recruiting for curators who have a great vision to match this project. We will do our best to announce the team prior to this deadline, but cannot guarantee that it will be posted prior to the deadline.
On what criteria will artists be selected to participate?
The curators will select artists for participation in this project. They will consider input from the co-Project Directors and the scientific team at the Colorado School of Public Health, but maintain decision-making control. Primary consideration will be based on the merit of the artist and their artistic vision, experience, innovation, and ability to enthusiastically participate in a project of this nature.
We are seeking a mix of voices that represent different backgrounds, perspectives, and communities in Colorado, as well as a variety of artistic media. This will include BIPOC and LGBTQ+ artists. We expect to have one or two artists from outside of Colorado as well, to encourage creative exchange and outside perspective.
